Celebrate a special occasion

A special occasion is a great opportunity to bring friends and family together and raise funds for a cause close to your heart. By asking for donations instead of gifts, your birthday, anniversary or wedding helps us provide support and information to individuals and their loved ones affected by cardiomyopathy.

Facebook birthday fundraisers

Setting up a Facebook birthday fundraiser is easy:

  1. Visit our Facebook page www.facebook.com/cardiomyopathyuk
  2. Go to ‘Fundraisers’ in the horizontal menu (you might need to scroll to the right)
  3. Click ‘Raise money’
  4. Create and personalise your fundraiser
  5. Get sharing!

The funds you raise will be paid automatically to the charity, so that your donations can begin making a difference as soon as possible. Facebook pays all the processing fees so 100% of each donation goes directly to Cardiomyopathy UK.

Weddings and civil partnerships

If you’re thinking of supporting Cardiomyopathy UK as part of your big day, setting up an online fundraising page is the easiest way to collect donations. Include the link to your page in your invitations, your wedding website or with wedding favours and place settings. We can also provide you with balloons, donation boxes and donation envelopes to add a special Cardiomyopathy UK touch to your day. Contact fundraising@cardiomyopathy.org to request materials.

Having a party?

If you're getting everybody together for a special party, we can send you our balloons, donation boxes or donation envelopes for your tables. If you’re making invitation or donation cards, we can also send you a high-resolution copy of our logo to include. Contact fundraising@cardiomyopathy.org to request materials.

You might also want to set up an online fundraising page. You can share this with guests on your invitations, via social media or on notecards on tables. It’s also helpful for guests as they won’t need cash. To boost your fundraising, you could also hold a raffle at your party, ask for donations for song requests or have some ‘pay to play’ games.

After your event

If you’ve raised funds online, you can sit back and relax as the funds will be transferred directly to the charity. If you’ve raised some money offline, you can pay in your funds online, over the phone or by sending us a cheque.
