Julie was diagnosed with DCM in 1993 following routine chest x-Ray, this was changed to genetic ARVC following the sudden death of her sister in 2007. In 2010, she had an ICD fitted which was changed to S-ICD in 2018. Julie has worked in the NHS for 40 years as a nurse, and then various admin manager roles. She currently works part time at Sheffield Children’s Hospital as an Outpatient Booking Coordinator. She has volunteered for CMUK since 2018 and co-leads the Sheffield Support Group. Julie is also a Telephone Peer Support Volunteer. In her spare time she loves eating out with close friends, reading crime/mystery novels and going to the theatre.
